Lorry And Track Mounted Rotary Bored
Severn Bore operate three lorry mounted piling rigs. All rigs are supplied by Soilmec of Italy. Two are T108 rigs mounted on 6 wheel Scania base trucks, the third is a higher capacity A312 model mounted on an eight wheel Scania base. These specialist vehicles have advantages over traditional track mounted piling rigs.
- No damage to existing surfaces making machines ideal for highway operation
Because they are truck mounted, rigs can be moved unlimited distances between piling sites on normal roads, without the necessity for low-loaders and without damage to highway surfacing.
- Machines are highly manoeuvrable
All trucks have all-axle drives, resulting in high accessibility on most construction sites
- Pile depths of up to 34m are achievable at the full range of diameters from 400 to 1800mm with the facility to construct raking piles
